Marissa Alvarez is a multimedia entertainment and culture journalist and editor, known for her sharp editorial instincts, thoughtful storytelling, and . She also works as a Public Relations Assistant, contributing to marketing initiatives, event planning, and media outreach.

Marissa previously served as the Music Managing Editor at MXDWN.COM, where she oversaw coverage of album, concert, and music festival reviews and strengthened her editorial leadership. Her work has appeared in VUE NJ Magazine, TAPinto, and The Outlook at Monmouth University, helping her refine her reporting, writing, and content creation across platforms. Additionally, she interned as a multimedia journalist at The Now Media, where she developed stories and produced entertainment and culture content for social platforms.

She has been recognized with the Excellence in Writing Award (2024) and the Robert Huber Leadership Award (2025) from Monmouth University’s Communication Department.

Marissa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a specialization in Journalism and Public Relations from Monmouth University in May 2025 and completed the NYU Modern Journalism Certificate in December 2024.

Currently, she works part-time with The Now PR as a Public Relations Assistant, supporting marketing, event coordination, and media strategy. Through these roles, she continues to build her skills in social media management, digital storytelling, and multimedia production.
