Marissa Alvarez is a multimedia entertainment and culture journalist and editor, bringing a keen editorial eye and a strong commitment to accuracy to every project she undertakes. She also works as a Public Relations Assistant, supporting marketing, event planning, and media initiatives.

Previously, she served as the Music Managing Editor at MXDWN.COM, where she oversaw coverage of album reviews, concert reviews, and music festival reviews, while also developing her editorial leadership skills. Her work has been featured in several publications, including VUE NJ Magazine, TAPinto, The Outlook at Monmouth University, and WhatSong.com, which has enabled her to further refine her writing, reporting, and content creation skills.

Alvarez has received recognition for her achievements with the Excellence in Writing Award (2024) and the Robert Huber Leadership Award (2025) from the Communication Department at Monmouth University.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, with a specialization in Journalism and Public Relations, from Monmouth University in May 2025 and completed the NYU Modern Journalism Certificate in December 2024.

Currently, Alvarez is interning as a multimedia journalist at The Now Media, where she curates stories and creates engaging content for social media platforms focused on entertainment and culture. She also works part-time with The Now PR as a Public Relations Assistant, contributing to marketing initiatives, event planning and coordination, and media outreach.
